Title: Videographer
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for concept development, digital camera operation, lighting and sound design, and post-production of high-quality video and photo content that advances the college's marketing, recruiting, communications, and educational initiatives. Supports live-streaming and documentation of campus events and collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to meet institutional media production needs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs job duties from the assigned campus/instructional site/work location.
Works with Director and AVP to develop, produce, and edit video productions for marketing, recruiting promotional, and informational purposes for departments, and the college as a whole.
Operates as a one-person crew and, occasionally, leads a small team.
Develops, produces, and edits, video content for NSCC.edu. Collaborates with Audio/Video/ and IT teams to support livestreaming and recording of campus events.
Produces various educational media productions for both on-campus and off-campus use. Initiates and develops new media productions and activities for institutional and community use.
Provides consultation, technical support, and media production guidance and resources to faculty and staff.
Captures and edits photographs of campus events, students, faculty, staff, classrooms, and offices, as needed.
Ensures all media productions adhere to branding, accessibility, and copyright standards.
Maintains and organizes a digital asset library of video, photo, and multimedia content.
Maintains media equipment, software, and supplies in the Video Productions Department.
May teach assigned course(s) as needed and as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent.
Four (4) years of experience in video production, videography, multimedia production, or a related field.
Portfolio or work highlight reel of video (primary) and photography (secondary). Link to digital representation is acceptable.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in communications, video productions, cinematography, or similar.
Two (2) years' experience in higher education in video production, videography, multimedia production, or a related field
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Expert knowledge of the latest media equipment, cameras (video or DSLR), lighting, audio, and accessory camera equipment, like a jib or camera slider. Expert knowledge of editing software such as Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro. Working knowledge of VFX and motion graphics software such as After Effects or similar applications. Expert knowledge of all aspects of the video production process, including planning, producing, set up, lighting, audio, camera operation, processing, editing, graphics, special effects, exporting, and managing video for a wide variety of distribution channels. Working knowledge of accessibility standards, including captioning, transcripts, and best practices for accessible video content to meet the most current state and federal requirements. Ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines at once. Ability to assist with streaming events held on campus and broadcast real-time online. Ability to use video switchers for multiple camera feeds. Ability to photograph people, and events, as needed. Photography in studios, classrooms, and offices, as well as in candid settings. Lighting skills are needed. Ability to troubleshoot, maintain and repair existing and new equipment. Willingness to work independently as an only videographer or as part of a small crew to film and edit videos and work with the creative team and clients to plan and complete video projects. Ability to occasionally work nights and weekends at locations and events throughout middle Tennessee.

Rate of Pay: $46,355.00 - $57,945.00 depending on experience
